Rescataron a tres náufragos que escribieron “ayuda” en la arena de una playa desierta

Tres pescadores sobreviven tres días en una lejana isla del Océano Pacífico; su mensaje de auxilio en la arena les salvó la vida.

La Guardia Costera y la Naval de Estados Unidos rescató a tres marineros que habían desaparecido en una isla desierta del Pacífico. Los náufragos escribieron la palabra ‘HELP’ (ayuda, en inglés) con hojas de palmera en la arena de la playa, con la intención de que alguien lo viera desde las alturas.

Los náufragos llevaban tres días en la isla Fanadik, que se encuentra a 4.000 kilómetros al sudoeste de Honolulu,  y su rescate se produjo luego de que un avión de la Marina viera el mensaje de “ayuda”. Con ingenio, los hombres utilizaron hojas de palmera para escribir la palabra en la playa.

Cuando vieron al  avión, los hombres agitaron sus chalecos anaranjados. Y dos horas después, una pequeña embarcación local los recogió y los llevó a un hospital. “El ingenio de estos hombres para construir su signo y el grado de preparación de tener chalecos salvavidas también ayudó a un rescate seguro”, dijeron funcionaron de la Guardia Costera.

Los funcionarons también contaron  a CNN que los tres hombres viajaban en una embarcación que volcó cuando los golpeó una ola y que después de  nadar durante horas,  lograron llegar a las playas de una pequeña isla,  al norte de Papúa Nueva Guinea.

Las familias alertaron de la desaparición de los individuos el pasado martes. “Afortunadamente, los tres tenían puestos chalecos salvavidas y pudieron nadar a la isla desierta”, señaló.
